In terms of total achievement both on and off the field, Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Pele) is regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
Pele started his football career in 1956 with Sandoz club and then played for Brazil a year later.
From 1958 to 1970, Pele played 14 FIFA World Cup matches. Pele remains to be the only player to win 3 trophies in FIFA WC history.
In his 21 years as a professional footballer, Pele scored 1,284 goals in 1,363 games. He is also the youngest player to have a hat-trick in FIFA WC history.
Pele won six trophies in Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A with Santos in 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965 and 1968.
